Bradford City release statement which provides major club update

Bradford City have released an official club statement following their disappointing play-off final loss.

For the second consecutive season, Bradford City’s hopes of achieving promotion to the Sky Bet Championship were thwarted by Millwall in the League One play-offs.

In the 2015/16 season, Millwall defeated Bradford City over two legs but the Lions lost to Barnsley at Wembley.

Twelve months later, Bradford progressed through to the final but were beaten 1-0 by Millwall to consign them to yet another year in the third tier.

Following this defeat, there had been plenty of speculation surrounding some of their star players and their manager Stuart McCall.

On the club’s official website, Bradford City have released a statement claiming that Stuart McCall will remain as manager of the club as they look to go again and win promotion next season.

The joint statement was provided by Stefan Rupp and Edin Rahic, who are the club’s owners, as well as Stuart McCall, Greg Abbott and James Mason with the aim of rubbishing some of the speculation flying around the media at the moment.

Bradford have also pledged to reinvest their Wembley money in new players who can improve their squad for next season.

The Bantams are in the process of negotiating new terms with some out of contract players as well.

Bradford City fans – what do you make of this statement? Are you pleased that McCall is staying? Let us know below…
