High flying Sky Bet League One side Bradford City are targeting Carlisle United’s goalscorer Charlie Wyke as a potential replacement for James Hanson, according to the Daily Mirror live transfer blog (10:35am).

The 24-year-old striker has been in prolific form for the Cumbrians this season with 14 goals and an assist.

The performances of the former Middlesbrough striker has been attracting attention from a host of League 1 clubs, however, Stuart McCall’s Bradford City have emerged as the favourite.

It is believed that Charlie Wyke would be willing to leave the Cumbrians, in order to join Bradford City who is currently sitting in the League One play-off places.

With the imminent departure of James Hanson to Sheffield United, Stuart McCall has been on the lookout for a potential replacement.

It appears that Charlie Wyke could potentially be James Hanson’s natural successor if the two clubs can agree a suitable fee.

With only a week left in the transfer window, it could be a difficult task.

However, Bradford City could directly use the fee that they received from Sheffield United to spend on Charlie Wyke.

Bradford City fans, what do you make of the news? Would you like to see Charlie Wyke join your club? Would he be a suitable replacement for James Hanson?
