Bradford City centre-back Rory McArdle is reportedly gaining interest from fellow Sky Bet League One sides Scunthorpe and Peterborough United as the versatile defender nears the end of his contract at Valley Parade, according to The Telegraph and Angus.

The 30-year-old made 33 appearances for Stuart McCall's side in all competitions last season and was one of a few who were offered fresh terms at the club after the heartache of defeat in the Play-Off Final.

Formerly of Rochdale and Sheffield Wednesday, McArdle has racked up 231 matches for Bradford City since putting pen-to-paper five years ago - following his release from Scottish Premiership outfit Aberdeen- making him the Bantams' longest-serving player at this moment.

Peterborough United, one of the reportedly interested parties, are planning a major overhaul of their squad this summer with eleven of the first-team players on the transfer list.

Meanwhile, Scunthorpe have just two recognised centre-backs in the team as David Mirfin has agreed to join Steve Evans' Mansfield Town in the division below.

Bradford City fans, would you be gutted if Rory McArdle left the club? Is it pivotal for next season to see him agree a new contract? Scunthorpe and Peterborough supports, would you welcome the Northern Ireland international to your teams?
