Sky Bet League One outfit Bradford City are set to turn their attentions for a new striker towards Newcastle United youngster Adam Armstrong, according to a report in The Telegraph and Argus.
Armstrong excelled playing in the third tier with Coventry City last season netting 20 goals for the Sky Blues, earning a reputation as a feared marksman during his time with the Sky Blues.
The Bantams have raced out of the blocks this season and currently sit third in League One, with boss Stuart McCall keen to add to his attacking arsenal in order to consolidate a place in the promotion picture.
Bradford has initially identified Mansfield Town striker Matt Green as their top target, although Head of Recruitment Greg Abbott has confirmed that a deal for the former Birmingham City man is ‘dead in the water’, after the Stags slapped an excessive price tag on their star man.
Armstrong has failed to break into the Newcastle United team so far this season, making just two substitute appearances and boss Rafa Benitez could be willing to allow the 19-year-old to continue his development out on loan once more.
Bradford City fans, would you welcome the signing of Armstrong? Is this the season where the Bantams finally return to the Championship? Who else should your manager sign? Let us know in the comments below!
