Bradford City have been handed a welcome injury boost ahead of their game against Morecambe this weekend.

Bantams boss Gary Bowyer has revealed that Paudie O'Connor is set to be fit for the match, which is one they'll be favourites to come away with three important points from.

O'Connor was forced to withdraw late on in their win over Swindon Town at Valley Parade last weekend, and there would have been fears that he could miss the game on Saturday against Jim Bentley's side.

But this latest update will be pleasing to hear for the Bradford supporters, who will be keen to see their side return to the third tier after a disappointing league campaign last term saw them relegated into League Two.

O'Connor has made six appearances for Bowyer's side so far this season, scoring twice, and he'll be keen to show Leeds United exactly what they're missing out on, after he signed permanently from the Championship club earlier in the summer.

All of the pressure will be on O'Connor and his Bradford team-mates on Saturday though, with Morecambe struggling towards the bottom of the table after twelve league games.

The Verdict:

This will be a real boost to their chances of coming away from this game with a win.

O'Connor has impressed me so far this season, and I think he's been a really good and reliable addition to have in the Bradford squad as they target an immediate promotion back into League One this term.

If he can build on these strong performances, then he's likely to be one of the first names on Gary Bowyer's team-sheet for the remainder of this year's campaign.
