Bradford City have agreed with Gianni Paladini to an extension period of exclusivity for buying the club, reports BBC Sport.
The Bantams publicly announced two weeks ago that they were in talks with the Italian over a potential takeover.
BBC Sport understands the deadline of the initial exclusivity ended on Friday but the League One club have agreed to have it extended by another fortnight.
The former QPR chairman, who was also interesting in purchasing Championship side Birmingham City, visited Bradford’s training ground this week.
It is understood that other parties are also interested in buying the West Yorkshire club, who had a good run in the FA Cup this season by beating Premier League Chelsea and Sunderland only to be knocked out at the quarter-final stage by Reading.
Bradford will spend another season in the third tier as their play-off push tailed off during March.
The Bantams are currently eighth in Sky Bet League One and face Crewe Alexandra on Saturday.
