Simon Grayson is expecting his Bradford City future to be resolved early this week, as doubt surrounds whether he will be taking the club forward next season.

The 48-year-old was appointed as Stuart McCall’s replacement back in February, but has endured a difficult start to life at Valley Parade.

Grayson has managed to pick up just three victories since his arrival at Bradford, with the Bantams sliding out of play-off contention under the ex-Leeds United and Huddersfield Town boss.

With a huge summer on the horizon, Grayson’s future remains in doubt after meeting with the owners, with it not yet clear if he will be leading the club in League One next season.

Discussing when he expects his future to be resolved, Grayson told the Yorkshire Post: “It needs to be done early part of the week.

“Monday or Tuesday, I would say.”

Bradford brought their season to an end over the weekend with a 1-1 draw with Scunthorpe United at Glanford Park.

That draw meant that Bradford finished the season in 11th and eight points adrift of the top-six.

Grayson has a track record of delivering promotion from League One to the Championship, having previously led, Blackpool, Leeds, Huddersfield and Preston North End back to the second-tier.

The Verdict

It has been a tough start to life at Valley Parade for Grayson, there is no doubt about that.

However, it appears that more than just his form since arriving will play a part in deciding if he’s still around next season.

Bradford have a good manager on their hands, who has a great League One record.

Losing Grayson in the summer would be disappointing for the club.
