Bradford City right-back Adam Henley has insisted that despite being in the division below, him and his team-mates are full of confidence ahead of Tuesday's FA Cup first-round replay with Shrewsbury Town.

Gary Bowyer's side welcome the Shrews to Valley Parade following last weekend's 1-1 draw with the League One side, knowing a win would set up a second-round tie with fellow League Two side Mansfield Town.

The 25-year-old revealed on Tuesday to the club's official media channels, that he and his side are to determine to upset the odds against their League One opponents.

Speaking to the official club website on Tuesday, the defender said: "We are all confident, heading into the Shrewsbury game, they are a good side but we see ourselves as a good team, too."

"We know this is a great opportunity for us and are not scared of our opponents - or viewing them as a team any higher than us - in any way, we need to view ourselves higher up, on the same level as teams like Shrewsbury, and to go toe-to-toe with them, again," Henley added.

Henley, has great memories of the FA Cup and has reached the quarter-finals on two occasions with former club Blackburn Rovers.

Speaking of his current side's potential, Henley said: "If you look at our team, we have the potential to compete in Sky Bet League One. This is a good test for us and our promotion credentials, because we want to be successful and competitive, we carry a great attacking threat and are going to try and exploit their weaknesses, wherever we can."

Should the Bantams come out on-top on Tuesday evening, they will host Mansfield on Saturday 30th November at Valley Parade.

The Verdict

Fans will be pleased to hear that the mood in the camp is full of confidence ahead of City's FA Cup clash with Shrewsbury.

The fact their opponents are in a higher placed division should not deter the Bantams as they seek to make it into the second round of the competition.

It will be good to hear that Henley believes the squad has the potential to compete in League One and Tuesday's clash represents a perfect way to showcase that.

Should City win, they will host fellow League Two side Mansfield which will present a fantastic opportunity for the West Yorkshire side to make the third-round of the competition for the fifth time in a decade.
