Bradford have confirmed that they have reached an agreement with Huddersfield that will ensure Jack Payne and Lewis O'Brien remain with the club for the remainder of the season.

The pair have been important players for the Bantams, particularly the classy Payne, who has scored eight goals this season.

Such form has helped lift the Yorkshire side from the bottom of the table and even though they remain in the relegation zone they are just one point from safety.

However, many connected to the club feared that the on-loan players would return to the Terriers and perhaps move elsewhere this window.

But, that's not the case, with the club announcing on their website this afternoon that they will be staying as they look to help David Hopkin's side up the table.

And, it's fair to say he was very pleased with the news:

"I am delighted Jack and Lewis have committed to the club, as this has been a major focus for us.

"A lot of our efforts during the early stages of the transfer window have been spent on ensuring these two players stay with us."

The duo are sure to be involved this weekend as Bradford host Southend in a League One clash.

The Verdict

This is great news for Bradford and a massive boost for the club at a crucial period in the season.

The Huddersfield men have played a massive part in the recent resurgence and are key players, so it would've left Hopkins in an awkward situation if he had to go and replace them.

Now, they will hope to maintain this promising run of form over the past few weeks and help the side out of the relegation zone as soon as possible.
