A poor start to 2018 has cost Leeds United in the race for the Sky Bet Championship’s play-offs, with their season drifting towards a mid-table finish.

Paul Heckingbottom’s side sit 14th heading into this weekend’s international break, and with just eight fixtures of the season remaining, there is only pride left to play for.

Leeds have just one victory to their name since the turn of the year, with plenty of Heckingbottom’s playing squad failing to impress since the turn of the year.

After such a disappointing second-half to the season, big changes will be expected to be made at Elland Road in the summer, as Leeds look to rebuild a squad capable of challenging for promotion.

Players will come and go, as they will at most clubs, and here at FLW, we highlight TWO transfer sagas that we are expecting to be facing Leeds in the coming summer…

Will Hernandez agree to a third season at Elland Road?

Leeds have opened contract talks with the Spanish playmaker, but it remains up in the air if he will commit to the club once again.

Hernandez has been magnificent over the course of the season and Leeds will not want to lose him, however, as things stand he will become a free agent.

Garry Monk and Birmingham City are lurking, which is beginning to worry Leeds’ supporters.

The Whites have been linked with a move for Yiadom this week, with the Barnsley defender out of contract at Oakwell in the summer.

The race to sign Yiadom appears to be gathering pace as we enter the run-in, with Leeds firmly interested.

Heckingbottom’s links to Barnsley could give Leeds an edge, and Yiadom might not be the only ex-Barnsley face Heckingbottom targets.
