Leeds claimed all three points at St Andrews last night, producing a spirited performance to beat Birmingham 3-1, despite being without the presence of Garry Monk on the touchline.

The win cements Leeds' position in fourth and opens up an eleven point gap to seventh placed Fulham, although the Cottagers do have two games in hand.

The Whites took the lead against the run of play on 14 minutes. A deft lob from Chris Wood left Tomasz Kuszczak helpless as he watched the ball drift in over his head.

Craig Gardner levelled the scores on 63 minutes, his deflected effort just evaded the reach of Leeds 'keeper, Rob Green, which raised the question, how would Leeds react?

Four minutes later, Leeds were back in front, Wood netted his second of the night with a simple tap in, following good work from Kalvin Phillips.

Alfonso Pedraza scored his first Leeds goal on 81 minutes to as good as seal the three points for the Whites.

Leeds fans were clearly delighted with the fight their team showed and the fact they have cemented their place in the top six.
