Former Crystal Palace midfielder Joe Ledley is currently training with Charlton amid their recent injury crisis, according to South London Press reporter Richard Cawley.

Ledley has been without a club since he was released by Derby County in January 2019, but it now appears that Charlton are possibly considering a move for the midfielder who has made 77 appearances for the Welsh national team.

Lee Bowyer has seen his side's league form suffer recently as a result of the club's significant crisis - with the Addicks having dropped to 17th in the Championship table - and midfield is currently a problem area with the likes of Jonny Williams, Beram Kayal and Josh Cullen all out injured.

It now appears the Charlton boss could turn to Ledley in order to ease his side's injury concerns, with the 32-year-old boasting over 250 Championship appearances to his name following spells at Cardiff and Derby.

Cawley took to Twitter on Thursday evening to reveal news of Ledley's involvement with the Addicks.

Plenty of Charlton fans responded to this with some of them very much welcoming the potential move, while some others suggested it might be a risk given Ledley's lack of first-team action during the last year.
