Despite the current pause in play meaning that the season, provided it gets started, will have a later than expected end date, Charlton boss Lee Bowyer cannot see Lewis Page being fit enough to feature much for the first-team before the end of 19/20.

The Addicks will be looking to hit the ground running once the season is resumed - providing it is - as they look to battle to Championship survival and avoid an immediate return to League One.

Bowyer, then, will want complete commitment and desire from those that are fit and during the break he'll have hoped some of the players that have niggles would have been able to recover.

For Lewis Page, though, it could still be unlikely that we see much of him before the end of this prolonged campaign.

The former Leeds United midfielder admitted via the South London Press:

“Pagey [Lewis Page] is back running and feels good but he’ll need a few games to get going again. It doesn’t look like we’ll have games to get going again – it will be a nine-game season. He’ll probably miss most of it.”

The Verdict

If Lewis Page had any injury luck at all it would be all bad.

He's a good player but has suffered terribly with knocks and earlier this season he had to come off early on into an u23 match that was part of his comeback.

They'll have to be extra careful with his return, then, as he has played nowhere near enough football to be sharp enough and it remains to be seen if Bowyer throws him in at all - it is, at least, a positive that he's back running, though.
