Championship side Bournemouth are plotting a move for Ivory Coast international Max Gradel, the Daily Mail understands.
Cherries boss Eddie Howe is trying to strengthen the squad that had a successful debut season in the Championship, and sees Gradel as a perfect addition to the team.
The 26-year-old has returned to his club Saint-Etienne following the World Cup campaign in Brazil, and his future in France is unclear as he enters the final year of his contract.
Gradel has played for Bournemouth before – in a 2007 loan spell from Leicester in which he made 38 appearances.
Eddie Howe’s side surpassed all expectations in the Championship last season – finishing 10th in their first ever season in the second tier.
Their plans of capitalising on that success have already been put into place after they completed the signing of Coventry City’s highly-rated forward Callum Wilson last week.
