Sky Sports have reported that Bournemouth have opened new contract negotiations with highly rated defender Steve Cook.
AFC Bournemouth have opened talks in a bid to fend off interest from Premier League and Championship clubs.
The Cherries manager Eddie How is determined to keep hold of defender Cook and are ready to offer him a new deal despite handing him a new contract only last summer. Cook’s performances have seen scouts regularly watching him from the stands.
The twenty three year old had put together a string of stand-out performances with Premier League new boys Burnley said to be on the verge of making an offer.
Cook signed initially on loan from Brighton in 2011, he impressed enough to have the deal made permanent in 2012 for an estimated £150,000 signing fee.
