Sky Sports have reported that Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe will not rush into bringing in any new recruits to the club.

As much as The Cherries' boss wants to sign a couple more players before the transfer deadline, he is willing to be patient to ensure that the players brought in are the right ones.

During the summer the Bournemouth squad has been bolstered by the arrivals of Dan Gosling, Junior Stanislas and Callum Wilson while striker Lewis Grabban left to join Norwich.

Bournemouth have so far recorded back-to-back victories in the Sky Bet Championship and Howe does not want to get carried away by being reckless in the transfer market. Norwich midfielder Andrew Surman is one name that has been linked to the club after a successful loan spell last season but Howe has refused to discuss specific targets.

Speaking to the Bournemouth Echo after last Saturday's game, Howe said: “We are keen to do something. I don’t over-react to wins or losses. You try to have a plan and a long-term plan and stick to it.

“We evaluate the squad all the time and are looking at one or two additions. But, as I have said before, there are no guarantees. You only want to get the right players, ones you think potentially will make you better and strengthen your squad.

“We certainly won’t do anything we feel rushed into and will take each individual player on their own merits. We would like to but we will have to wait and see. There are a lot of things that have to fall into place, it is not just our wants.”
