After making his first league start for Nottingham Forest at the weekend, Rafa Mir's performance against Wigan Athletic disappointed plenty of Reds fans.

The 22-year-old has had to be patient since arriving on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer, making five substitute appearances in the Championship and two starts in the Carabao Cup.

But the Spanish forward was given his chance to impress manager Sabri Lamouchi at the weekend, though, with the Frenchman making five changes to the side that beat Brentford 1-0 before the international break.

Mir left a lot to be desired up top on his own, though. The powerful striker squandered two major opportunities - one of those coming from a wicked Joe Lolley cross, and spurning a golden chance after being sent through one-on-one by John Bostock in the second half.

He was then replaced by Lewis Grabban, and after falling to their second defeat of the season, plenty of Forest fans were left slating his performance against the Latics.

Mir is currently Forest's only real back-up option to Grabban after the club got rid of the likes of Daryl Murphy, Hillal Soudani and Apostolos Vellios in the summer.

On social media, plenty of Forest fans have been deciding who's more effective out of Vellios and Mir...
