London-born Ghana international Albert Adomah admits good fortune could see his career go from Barnet to Brazil.
The 26-year-old Middlesbrough winger was playing in the depths of English football with Barnet as recent as 2010, later signing for Bristol City before joining Middlesbrough last summer.
His fine form this season could see Boro’s top-scorer with 12 league goals, heading to the World Cup with the Black Stars.
Speaking to Sky Sports News, Adomah said: “I didn’t even dream of this, I did not even think that one day I would be playing professionally, let alone nationally – it is a dream come true.
“It is a big achievement going to a World Cup, and after the last World Cup watching them on TV, now hopefully I will get the chance to play.”
Having played semi-professional football for Harrow Borough, Adomah now has the chance to feature against the likes of Germany, Portugal and USA in Group G.
