Boro set to confirm former Leeds man as new manager

Middlesbrough are set to appoint former Leeds United manager Garry Monk as their new manager.

According to Radio Yorkshire football expert Derek Clark, Monk has agreed to join the Riverside club along with James Beattie as his number two, and a deal is expected to be announced in the coming days.

Boro have been looking for a new manager ever since getting rid of Aitor Karanka and choosing not to give the role to Steve Agnew on a permanent basis.

Garry Monk has been out of work since leaving Leeds in a shock move just under a month ago, but it was inevitable he was going to walk back into football following the excellent job he did at Elland Road, and it appears now Boro is his destination.

Monk led the Whites to within touching distance of the playoffs and only a late season collapse saw them fall away from the top six as the season drew to a close.

Boro Chairman Steve Gibson will be hoping the appointment of Monk can seal an immediate return to the Premier League for his team.

Boro fans, what do you think to this? Leeds fans, what’s your thoughts? Let us know in the comments!
