Much of the talk at Middlesbrough in the January transfer window has been about outgoings, with Tony Pulis looking to trim a bloated squad that was losing its identity under Garry Monk.
Pulis felt it was respectful to Steve Gibson, who is one of the fairest chairmen in the county, to fully examine a squad which cost him a lot of money before making any decisions about how to move forward.
However, one man who is rumoured to be on Pulis’s radar is Queens Park Rangers man Jordan Cousins, as per the Daily Mail.
Injury has limited Cousins’ involvement at Loftus Road this season and he has only made eight appearances for the club in all competitions this season.
The pricetag for Cousins reportedly sits at around £1m, given Rangers’ tight financial situation.
This would be a deal that makes financial sense, as £1m is next to nothing compared to what Boro have been spending over the last three transfer windows.
However, do they need to take a risk on a man with injury problems? I’m also not sure Cousins has the quality required.
