‘Bored of saying it’ – Plenty of Birmingham fans were left frustrated with one man after Blackburn defeat

Birmingham City’s season came to a somewhat disappointing conclusion on Saturday afternoon, as they were beaten 5-2 by Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.

Despite taking the lead through Kristian Pedersen midway through the first half, Adam Armstrong’s penalty and Ben Brereton’s strike meant the Blues were behind at the break.

Although Lukas Jutkiewicz levelled shortly after half time, two more from Armstrong to complete his third hat-trick of the season, and an audacious finish from Liverpool loanee Harvey Elliott on his final appearances for Rovers sealed all three points for Tony Mowbray’s side.

Did these 18 players make more than 100 Birmingham appearances?

One Birmingham player who particularly appeared to struggle on Saturday, was Jonathan Leko.

The attacker was the one who conceded the penalty from which Rovers equalised, and struggled to offer much of a threat in attack before being substituted at half time, meaning he ends the campaign having failed to score in 34 league appearances for the club.

That is something that did not go unnoticed by a number of Birmingham fans as they took to Twitter to give their thoughts on the game, with many seemingly unimpressed with the 22-year-old.

Here, we take a look at what some of those Blues supporters had to say about Leko’s latest performance.
