Bristol City striker Benik Afobe appears to on his way back to fitness after suffering a nasty ligament injury last year, which has drawn an excited response from fans of the South West club.

Afobe joined the Robins on a season-long loan from Stoke City on transfer deadline day and made an excellent start to life in BS3.

The forward scored three goals in his first five appearances for the club but suffered what was originally thought to be a season-ending knee injury in mid-September.

However, it appears his rehabilitation is going well as a video has emerged on social media of the 26-year-old running on grass four months after having surgery.

You'd imagine the striker still has a little way to go before he is able to pull on a matchday shirt but the video seems to hint that he may be back before the end of the current campaign.

City are sixth in the Championship as things stand and will no doubt be hoping the 26-year-old can return to aid their play-off aspirations.
