Championship duo Middlesbrough and Aston Villa have both been handed a boost in their hunt to sign Everton winger Yannick Bolasie.

According to the Bristol Post, Toffees manager Marco Silva has admitted that Bolasie could be set to leave the club on loan, leaving the door wide open for the promotion chasing Championship duo to make their move.

Villa manager Steve Bruce is a known admirer of Bolasie and is keen to add new players to his squad after having to leave things late in the transfer window this summer, while Boro manager Tony Pulis is seeking an out and out replacement for the departed Adam Traore.

Bolasie was a big money signing for Everton when he made a move from Crystal Palace in a deal worth in excess of £25m. However, his progress has stalled at Goodison, oweing in part to serious injuries and a summer overhaul under new manager Silva.

This means competition for places is now fierce for the Toffees, and Bolasie might well find himself best served by making a move to find some regular first team action.

Villa and Boro have both enjoyed unbeaten starts to the Championship season and will no doubt be keen to snap up a player of Bolasie's quality.

Boro and Villa fans, what do you think to Bolasie? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
