Bolton Wanderers' problems are now appearing to worsen even further following the revelation that the relegated club will not complete their Championship season on time.

The Trotters' clash with Brentford was postponed last Saturday, with the senior squad on strike over unpaid wages from the month of March.

The club's proposed takeover by Laurence Bassini also now appears to have fallen through after the former Watford owner failed to provide funds to prove he could afford the deal.

This has led to an almost fitting end to Bolton's season which has been marred by financial trouble throughout.

A fresh development has now underlined the extent of the troubles at Wanderers with the Bolton Whites Hotel reportedly closed for business, according to journalist Marc Iles.

The hotel is integrated into the University of Bolton Stadium and could represent that the club is short on supplies, after the training ground was shut down earlier this year due to a lack of food and drink.

Iles also reported that the hotel will be closed for the next 48 hours as it stands, with the situation beyond that point as yet unclear.

The Verdict

This appears to be another indication of the extent of Bolton's troubles.

It really has been a season to forget for the Trotters and thing only appear to be getting worse.

One of the major concerns should be for the future of the staff working at the hotel, as Bolton's financial woes are now clearly affecting people's livelihoods.
