Bolton Wanderers have joined in with the Transfer Deadline Day excitement after making a signing of their own.

The Trotters were keen to add to their squad this month as they look to battle bravely against relegation from League One and they've managed to do just that.

Keith Hill's side have completed the signing of Anthony Georgiou.

The Tottenham Hotspur man has moved to the University Of Bolton Stadium on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Georgiou is highly-rated having featured for Spurs in the Champions League back in September 2017.

Since then he has enjoyed loan spells with Spanish side Levante B, and more recently, with Ipswich Town in League One.

The 22-year-old made 15 appearances for the Tractor Boys this season but will now join Bolton Wanderers as he looks for more regular first team football.

The verdict

This could be a very shrewd move for Bolton Wanderers.

Anthony Georgiou comes with undoubted pedigree after coming through the youth set-up with Tottenham Hotspur before going on to represent them at first team level.

Things haven't quite worked out for him since then but a move to the Trotters could be a mutually beneficial move for all parties involved.

The hope will simply be that the 22-year-old can make a positive impact on Keith Hill's squad between now and the end of the season.
