Bolton Wanderers have confirmed that they have signed Ali Crawford and Chris O'Grady on deals until the end of the season as their busy deadline day continues.

The Trotters issues over the past few months have been well-documented, however with Football Ventures completing a takeover of the club five days ago, they have now started adding to the squad for new manager Keith Hill.

And, two more faces have come in this evening, with the club announcing that Crawford has joined from fellow League One side Doncaster, whilst the experienced O'Grady arrives from Oldham.

Crawford, a 28-year-old Scottish midfielder, featured in 36 games last season as Rovers reached the play-offs but they ultimately came up short against eventual winners Charlton.

Meanwhile, 33-year-old striker O'Grady will give the new boss another option in the final third and he has played at this level for Sheffield Wednesday, Barnsley and Nottingham Forest, among others, in the past.

Further additions are expected by the club as they look to build a squad that can compete, with the club currently bottom of the league on -11 points.

The Verdict

It was all about adding to the squad today for Bolton and they have made some smart signings and the arrival of Crawford is one that should excite the fans as he can be a very good player at this level.

O'Grady's goal return in recent years suggests he may struggle but having someone with his experience and know-how could be vital in games and around the dressing room to what is a young squad.

Even though the deadline has passed, more signings are expected and it's an exciting time for the fans after an extremely tough few months.
