Ben Amos has been told that he is free to leave Bolton Wanderers this summer if he can find himself another club, according to The Bolton News.

Bolton Wanderers have three other goalkeepers on their books who will be ahead of Ben Amos in the pecking order.

Ben Amos has been frozen out by Bolton Wanderers manager Phil Parkinson after spending last season on loan at Cardiff City.

Amos started the season as Cardiff's first choice stopper but soon dropped out of contention and the Bluebirds were not interested in keeping him beyond his loan deal.

Bolton want to get rid of the former Manchester United youngster to free up some wage space.

Amos is thought to be one of the higher earners at Bolton.

Parkinson wants Mark Howard and Ben Alnwick to compete for the starting goalkeeper spot with young Jake Turner expected to provide cover should one of those get injured.

Ben Amos has now been told to find himself another club with a loan deal looking more likely than a permanent exit at this stage.

This was confirmed by Phil Parkinson after he opted to leave Ben Amos out of the pre-season tour to Scotland.

The 27-year-old has been at Bolton since 2015, when he signed a permanent deal with the Trotters following a successful loan spell.

But now it appears that the former England under-21 international's career with Bolton has come to an end.
