Bolton Wanderers winger Lloyd Isgrove has made further progress as recovers from injury, after resuming training on grass.

Isgrove has made 24 appearances in all competitions for Bolton this season, but hasn't featured since suffering a hamstring injury in a win over Doncaster Rovers back in November.

Now however, it seems that the 29-year-old is making positive progress, as he aims to get back to full fitness.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday morning, the Welshman posted a picture of his boots, along with a caption confirming that he is now back out working on grass.

It has however, been suggested that Isgrove won't return to action until April, meaning it could still be some time before Bolton manager Ian Evatt is able to come upon his services.

Bolton currently sit tenth in the League One table, eight points off the play-offs, having seen a seven-game unbeaten run come to an end with a 3-1 defeat at Burton on Tuesday.

Isgrove has around 18 months remaining on his contract with Bolton, securing his future at the club until the end of next season.

The Verdict

This update on Isgrove does seem to be promising news from a Bolton perspective.

Admittedly, it does appear as though it could still be some time before he is back playing with the first-team, but the fact he is progressing well at least means there is still a chance of him doing so this season.

That could certainly be useful for Bolton, if his return to action can help give the club an extra lift in  momentum as they look to push for a top six spot in the final few weeks of the campaign.

With that in mind, you imagine there will be plenty of Bolton fans keeping a keen eye on Isgrove's progress going forward, now they know he is making moves such as this.
