According to The Sun, League One promotion hopefuls Bolton Wanderers are in pole position to sign Cameron Brannagan on loan from Liverpool in January.

Liverpool are reportedly willing to let the central midfielder leave on loan when the transfer window re-opens and Bolton could be Brannagan’s destination.

The 20-year-old is highly rated at Anfield and will be allowed a temporary spell away from the Premier League club to aid his development and get some senior minutes under his belt.

Brannagan has played three league games for Liverpool – including one start – and has also featured in four domestic cup games and two European games.

The England under-20 international has been with the club since he was 5 and many fans believe he has what it takes to become a first team regular in the future.

Bolton could be the side to take him on loan as they attempt to win promotion back to the Championship at the first time of asking.

Bolton fans – would Brannagan be a good signing? What would he add to your squad? Let us know in the comments below…
