Celtic boss Ronny Deila has dismissed the rumours that James Forrest could be on his way in a loan move to Bolton Wanderers, reports the Daily Mail

Bolton are keeping tabs on Forrest
Celtic boss Ronny Deila has ruled out selling Forrest to Bolton

Deila has tipped the winger to reach his potential next season and is baffled why the Scotland international would move from the Scottish champions to Championship side Bolton, managed by former Hoops manager Neil Lennon.

The 23-year-old has struggled with injuries since forcing his way into the first-team as a youngster under Lennon but has been a regular in the side during the last four months of the season.

The Norwegian is keen to keep his squad together at Parkhead and is determined to keep Forrest as well as Virgil van Dijk at the club.

"Why go to Bolton? He's at Celtic." said Deila to the Daily Mail.

"I haven't heard anything. James is a very important player and we want to keep him here.

"He's now getting to a level where we can start working to get him better. He has been free of injury for six months now, he's getting more and more consistency in his play and we expect more from him this season than last because of all the injuries.

"It's a big season not just for him but for everybody. I'm delighted for him because he is such a good boy, it's good working with him."

Celtic have been linked with former Middlesbrough loan striker Jelle Vossen, who wants to leave parent club RC Genk this summer.
