Bolton Wanderers fighting to tie up loan deal for Championship winger

Published

on

Bolton Wanderers are desperate to come to an agreement with Newcastle United so that they can extend Sammy Ameobi’s loan deal until the end of the season, according to The Chronicle Live.

Rafa Benitez has recalled Ameobi from his half-season loan at Bolton as cover for Christian Atsu, who is set to represent Gabon in the African Cup of Nations this month.

With Rolando Aarons also out with a long-term injury, Benitez might look to Ameobi as cover on the wings.

However, Bolton are very keen to keep him at the Macron Stadium as they prepare to launch a promotion bid.

The Trotters currently sit in 2nd place in League One and Ameobi has been central to their success this year.

The 24-year-old has netted 4 goals in 24 appearances this season and impressed with his displays out wide.

A loan fee is yet to be agreed between Newcastle and Bolton.

Newcastle fans – would you keep Ameobi or loan him back out? Does he have a future at St James’ Park? Does he deserve another chance?

Bolton fans – can you get Ameobi? How important is he to your promotion hopes?
