Sky Bet League One high-flyers Bolton Wanderers are reportedly eyeing a move for Cardiff City striker Adam Le Fondre, currently on loan at Championship strugglers Wigan Athletic, reports HITC Sport.

The Trotters are looking to boost their promotion bid back to the second-tier by signing an experienced forward during the January transfer window.

The 30-year-old joined the Latics last summer on a season-long loan after finding his chances in south Wales limited, but is now suffering the safe problem at the DW Stadium.

Le Fondre has made 12 appearances for Wigan this campaign but has started on just three occasions - with just one goal.

The former Reading man enjoyed a loan spell at Bolton for the second-half of the 2014/15 season, and netted eight goals during his time there. He became the club's topscorer that season albeit only being there for six months.

Adam Le Fondre made a name for himself whilst at the Royals in the Premier League during the 2012/13 year where he was named the club's Player of the Season but despite his best efforts he was not able to keep Reading in the top-flight.

Bolton manager Phil Parkinson is keen on guiding his side to an instant return to the Championship and seemingly feels the striker will be a massive help to complete his target.

Trotters fans, would you welcome Le Fondre back with open arms? Does he still have that goalscoring touch to get you out of League One? Let us know below!
