Bolton Wanderers edging closer to appointing new manager

The final interview for the vacant manager position at Bolton Wanderers will take place today after being 12 weeks manager-less, according to The Bolton News.

Although it is not clear who the final interviewee will be to take over the helm at the Macron Stadium, it is understood it could be anyone from the shortlist of; Brian McDermott, Nigel Adkins and Steve Cotterill.

Adkins was sacked in May after failing to guide Sheffield United to promotion in the 2015/16 season, Cotterill knows what it takes to get out of League One having taken Bristol City up last year, and reports say McDermott was invited by Bolton’s chairman to apply for the manager position straight after being sacked by Reading.

We know for sure the two managers who won’t be interviewed are Steve Evans and Alan Stubbs.

Leeds United parted company with Evans yesterday but it is believed,¬†whilst Hibernian’s Alan Stubbs is set to be appointed manager of Rotherham United,

The search for a new boss at Bolton Wanderers has taken longer than anticipated by most supporters, but chairman Tony Anderson has said: ”it’s better to make the right choice than a hasty one.”

The new manager will face a stern task of revitalising the beleaguered Wanderers ahead of what will be a very tough Sky Bet League One campaign.

Bolton fans, who do you want most out of the three-man shortlist and why? Should anyone else not mentioned be considered for the job? Let us know in the comments below!
