Bolton Wanderers confirm signing of international striker

Bolton Wanderers have completed the signing of striker Chinedu Obasi, their official website has confirmed.

The Trotters have signed the 31-year-old Nigerian international on a deal until the end of the season and he will be hoping to go straight into Phil Parkinson’s plans and replace some of the goals the club have lost since selling Gary Madine in January.

Obasi has lived a career which has taken in a number of clubs and countries, and he made his name in Germany, playing for Hoffenheim before enjoying a loan spell with Schalke 04.

However, his latest spell has been in Sweden with AIK, where he bagged give goals in nine appearances for the Swedish giants. He has also had a spell in big spending China.

Obasi has joined Bolton following a successful trial period with the club, and his signature will represent a big boost for the Lancashire club who are looking to ensure their Championship status for next season following promotion from League One last term.
