Former Everton midfielder Leon Osman is close to agreeing a deal to sign for Sky Bet League One side Bolton Wanderers, according to The Sun.
The veteran midfielder was released by the Premier League club in the summer and currently is still a free agent, reports say he is willing to agree terms with Bolton manager Phil Parkinson.
The Trotters’ early promotion form has faltered in recent weeks as the club, who suffered relegation from the Championship last season, are sliding down the table. They have one win in seven games and currently sit 8th.
Osman had been a permanent member of Everton’s squad since his debut in 2000, making up over 350 appearances for the Toffees.
The 35-year-old also has two caps for the England senior team.
Manager Parkinson is currently on the look out for reinforcements who are without a club, as he attempts to put an end to Bolton’s dismal form and climb back up the league table.
His side have been unable to score in their last five game but Osman would be able to add that attacking edge as well as help out in defence.
