Young midfielder Harrison Chapman was involved in England’s U20 World Cup winning squad, and returns to boyhood club Middlesbrough on the back of a brilliant start to the summer.

Chapman is yet to break into the first team at the Riverside thus far, but with Boro now in the Championship following their demotion from the top flight last season, the youngster may fancy his chances of forcing his way into new boss Garry Monk’s plans.

The 19-year-old has enjoyed success away from his parent club in recent seasons, and successful spells with Barnsley and Sheffield United, in which the player contributed to back to back League One promotional honours in 2016 and 2017.

If chances are limited in the north east again next season, then another spell away from the club could be on the cards, and after competing successfully in the upper reaches of League One, a Championship move beckons.

Newly promoted Bolton will look to bolster their squad this summer having returned to the Championship at the first time of asking, and adding the hungry young player to the set up would be a welcome addition to Phil Parkinson’s side.

Bolton secured promotion in a relatively straightforward fashion, but strengthening will be vital if the Trotters are to avoid a relegation scrap next time out.

There is great potential in Parkinson’s side to enjoy a comfortable season, and adding Chapman to the mix will certainly make the transition easier.

Chapman needs minutes, and Parkinson needs depth, so this move makes perfect sense.
