Charlton Athletic are set to reignite their interest in Bolton midfielder, Erhun Oztumer according to Sky Sports.
The Addicks had previously been interested in signing Oztumer in January’s transfer window, but the move fell through.
Charlton have since won promotion back into the Championship, whilst Bolton have been relegated to League One.
This is likely to mean that wholesale departures are likely in Phil Parkinson’s side as their financial woes continue into next year’s campaign.
The Trotters are set to start next season with a 12-point deduction in League One, which will make it difficult for them to make an immediate return to the Championship.
The 28-year-old made just eight league starts last season, and will surely feel as though he has the ability to be playing in the Championship.
Oztumer actually started his career with Charlton, before being released at the age of 16.
He’ll feel as though he has unfinished business at The Valley, and will be keen to hit the ground running if he secures a move to the newly-promoted Addicks.
This would be an excellent signing by the Addicks.
Oztumer is a player that is more than capable of playing regular Championship football and his creativity could be a real asset to Lee Bowyer’s side.
I’m not surprised to see them renewing their interest in him now that they have been promoted to the second tier of English football.
