Bolton Wanderers reportedly want to sign Port Vale midfielder Luke Hannant.

According to respected journalist Alan Nixon, the Trotters are keen on signing the midfielder, who only joined Vale this year but has been impressive since making the move to the football league from non-league Gateshead.

Hannnat, who is only 24-years-old, could well be keen on a move to the Championship as he looks to further his career in the game in what would be a meteoric rise to the second tier.

Bolton have made a good start to the Championship season, but manager Phil Parkinson is clearly still keen to add some more new faces to his squad and is already eyeing the January window as somewhere he can make some shrewd additions to the ranks.

Midfielder Hannant has played every game for Vale this season after making 18 appearances for the club last season, scoring one goal in the process. He will no doubt need to improve on those goalscoring stats if he is to have an impact in the Championship, but there is little doubting his ability to make the step up.

Bolton fans, what do you make of this? Would Hannant be a good signing? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
