SkyBet Championship side Bolton Wanderers are interested in signing Manchester City striker John Guidetti on a season-long loan, reports Sports in a Storm.
Money appears to be tight at the Reebok Stadium and the Bolton board have told manager Dougie Freedman that he will have to get “creative” in the summer window.
The club are prepared to bankroll the wages of high-profile loan players as the Trotters look to challenge for a top-six finish next season.
The 22-year-old Guidetti had a frustrating five-month loan spell at Premier League side Stoke City last season, where he made just six appearances.
Guidetti did have an impressive spell on loan at Dutch club Feyenoord during the 2011/12 season, scoring 20 goals in 23 appearances.
The Swedish striker is desperate to improve his fitness after an infected nerve left him without feeling in his right leg 18 months ago.
He will speak with City boss Manuel Pellegrini in the coming weeks to discuss his future, but the Chilean is a keen admirer of the player.
It is understood the Premier League champions don’t want to lose Guidetti and a loan switch to Wanderers made be an ideal solution.
