Winger Dennis Politic will be available for Bolton Wanderers when they travel to Sincil Bank to take on Lincoln City on Saturday afternoon, manager Keith Hill has confirmed.

Politic was absent in midweek through illness as Bolton picked up their first win of the season with a 2-0 victory away at Bristol Rovers, but could return to the side if Hill elects to give one of his other attackers a rest.

Bolton do have a number of other players - including Jake Wright, Jack Hobbs and Thibuad Verlinden - absent through injury, although it appears as though they will have to cope with just having Politic available on again on Saturday.

Speaking to The Bolton News about his side's injury situation, Hill was quoted as saying: “Dennis is probably the only one we’ll have available.

“The rest, we’re encouraging them back on to the training ground when they are ready. We are not rushing them.”

So far this season, Politic has made 12 appearances in all competitions for Wanderers, scoring twice in the Cup competitions after being one of the youth players called up to the first-team in the absence of a number of senior players earlier in the campaign.

Bolton go into the game still rooted to the foot of the League One table following their 12 point deduction for entering administration at the end of last season, while Lincoln are 15th, having won just one of their five league games since the appointment of Michael Appleton as their new manager.

The Verdict

This is a big boost for Bolton.

The fact that Politic has been able to retain his place in the side, even after the arrival of a number of more senior and experienced players at the club recently, shows just how good he has been this season.

Having him back will therefore be a big boost for Bolton, not least because it gives them an extra option to rotate, as their squad continues to adjust to getting back up to match sharpness this season.

Indeed, with Bolton naming just six substitutes at Bristol Rovers, it certainly seems as though injuries are still taking their toll on the side, meaning Politic's return should be very welcome indeed.
