Bolton are seemingly destined for relegation to League One this season, currently sat second-bottom of the Championship table with just eight matches left of the season.

They need to make up eight points in that time to have any hope of staying in the second tier, but having scored the least number of goals in the league, it looks very unlikely.

But they were handed an all too rare positive piece of news on Wednesday when the high-court granted them an extension in their quest to pay over £1.2million worth of debts.

The reports suggest that an extension was granted as the club were able to prove that a takeover from current owner Ken Anderson could happen in the not too distant future.

After a turbulent season with plenty of deception from the hierarchy with regards to takeovers, how should the Bolton fans be feeling about this news?

I dare say it is nearly time for Bolton fans to rejoice. Strangely, despite a poor showing on the pitch, getting Anderson out of their club will almost make it feel like a successful season.

I can understand the doubts that still linger around the supporters, but it is very unlikely that the court would have agreed to this had they not been presented with substantial proof that a deal was likely.

Remain vigilant, but this is looking very good for the Trotters.
