Phil Parkinson’s Bolton side have won just once in their last 11 matches, losing nine of them with a 2-0 defeat to Swansea just their most recent set-back.

Sat in 23rd place with 35 matches and seven points from safety, a confirmed place in League One next season is looking like a matter of when rather than if now.

But with off-field problems continuing to worsen, the control that Parkinson has over matters seems to be getting less and less.

The most recent of which concerns the club’s catering arrangements with the usual suppliers threatening to pull out of their duties this Saturday when they host Millwall.

Heathcote and Co, the suppliers, claim a lack of assurances from the club over payments is the reason for the latest development.

It now means that the match could be postponed unless they can prove to Bolton council by Wednesday that they have the facilities required.

The issues occuring look ready to condemn the club to the third tier of English football, but how will the fans be feeling as issues continue to emerge?

You have to feel sorry for them. It seems just as Blackpool come out of a torrid period of delusional ownership, Bolton are just about to feel the worst of it.

It is time to prepare for relegation to League One and possibly worse. We have seen it before with Coventry, Portsmouth and the Tangerines, incapable owners have the power to bring a club to its knees.

Hopefully that will not be the case, but it is surely time for fans to prepare for the very worse.
