Bolton confirm Parkinson appointment

Published

Bolton Wanderers have confirmed via their Official Website that Phil Parkinson is their new manager.

Parkinson has signed a 2-year deal with the Lancashire club, and will have quite the task on his hands as they embark on a season in League One following last seasons disastrous Championship campaign.

The former Colchester manager has a good record of getting teams out of the lower leagues, following promotion to League One with Bradford a few seasons ago, as well as guiding Colchester to Championship football before that.

Bolton are now owned by a Dean Holdsworth led consortium, who saved the club from going under last season when all looked lost for the former Premier League and Europa League club.

Parkinson has surprised a few in the game by taking the job at the Macron, but he clearly sees it as challenge he cannot pass up on, and may well feel he has taken Bradford as far as he can following last seasons play off defeat to Millwall.

Bolton fans, are you happy with this appointment? Bradford fans, how gutted are you? Who is going to replace him? Let us know in the comments!!!
