Bolton Wanderers have confirmed the signing of former Bristol City defender Mark Little, reports BBC Sport.

The 28-year-old right back was released from his contract with the Robins at the end of the season, but has now signed a two-year deal with the Championship newcomers ahead of the new season.

Little had been with Bristol since making the move to the club in 2014 following a hugely successful spell with Peterborough, where racked up over 150 appearances in a Posh shirt.

He made 34 appearances last season for Lee Johnson’s men but saw his contract left to run down and expire, and now Bolton and manager Phil Parkinson have pounced to secure the services of an experienced defender as they prepare for life back in the second tier.

Bolton managed to win promotion last season despite seeing Sheffield United run away with the title and a sustained charge from Scunthorpe and Fleetwood Town.

Manager Parkinson will be hoping this will be the first of many new signings for the Trotters, who will be under pressure financially to maintain their Championship status at the first attempt.

Bolton fans, what do you think to this? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
