Lennon took charge of the Trotters earlier this month and is looking to raid his old club Celtic for star player Kris Commons.

Commons is out of contract at the end of the season and the former Scottish Champions boss wants to take advantage of a cut-price deal that could be an option that would see them reunite at the Macron Stadium.

Lennon said to the Sun:  ”Kris Commons scored 32 goals for me last year. Of course I would be interested in him, at the right price. But does Kris want to come here? I’ve never had that conversation. I would be pretty certain that Celtic would be unwilling to let him go.”

Commons moved to the Scottish Champions from Championship club Derby County, and has also played for Nottingham Forest and Stoke City.
