Quoted by the Sunderland Echo, former Sunderland player and now Watford Sporting Director Eric Roy has suggested a deal that sees the Premier League club send players on loan to Wearside could be possible.

Sunderland lie just outside of the League One play-off places at the moment and fans will be hoping that their side is capable of clambering into the top six spots before the season is wrapped up.

Regardless of what division they're in for 20/21, though, there will be plans to add players in the summer window.

And Watford man Roy feels as though he could help out his former club with him saying:

“If they have any interest in taking some players on loan, I’m open to working with the club.”

The Verdict

It's an interesting offer for Sunderland to perhaps consider.

They'll want to be back in the Premier League challenging the likes of Watford on the pitch, of course, but there's also a good argument to suggest that the Wearsiders should look into this potential offer.

Watford will have some good young players on their books needing game-time and Sunderland would be the ideal club to benefit from them, providing they are hungry enough and can deal with the size of the Black Cats.
