Birmingham City are keen on making a move for Leeds United striker Mirco Antenucci, according to the Birmingham Mail.
The 31-year-old striker has confirmed he will leave Elland Road this summer following the expiration of his contract, and this has seemingly put Blues manager Gary Rowett on red alert.
The Italian has made 80 appearances for the Yorkshire club, but has divided fans with his displays during his time with the club since making the move in 2014.
It now appears that the Italian will consider staying in England though, after previously appearing set to move back to his homeland.
Antenucci had spent his entire career in Italy until making the move to Elland Road a few seasons ago, where he has demonstrated enough ability there to impress fellow managers in the league, with Rowett the latest to now show interest.
It would make sense for the Blues to move for a striker, who are short of options up top and have only Clayton Donaldson as an out and out threat through the middle.
Birmingham drifted away from the play-off positions towards the end of the season, but the season was considered a success by most associated with the club.
