Sheffield United fans will be waiting with bated breath after goalkeeper Simon Moore appeared to seriously injure his knee in Friday's friendly win over Rotherham United.

The Blades number one was removed from the action in the first half at the New York Stadium, later complaining of pain behind his knee, and manager Chris Wilder has confirmed that he is indeed very worried by the potential injury to his goalkeeper.

United only currently have more and the inexperienced young 'keeper Jake Eastwood on the books, following the clubs decision to allow George Long to move out on loan a few weeks ago.

If Moore's injury is serious, it will be a bitter blow to United, who saw their form vastly improve following Moore's signing last season, with the former Cardiff man going to on cement his place as the number one at Bramall Lane.

United ran out 2-1 winners in the game with the Millers, with an own goal and Enda Stevens giving the Blades the win. Young midfielder David Brooks was once again impressive for the Blades as his stock continues to rise following what has been an excellent summer for the youngster.
