Blow for Leeds United as player is ruled out for the season

Reports from The Yorkshire Evening Post this morning have confirmed that Leeds United goalkeeper, Ross Turnbull has been ruled out for the season.

The former Chelsea and Middlesbrough goalkeeper has been severely unlucky as he has persistent injury woes since October last year.

Having broken his ankle in a training ground match at Thorp Arch, he has to undergo ankle surgery and the second surgery will leave him sidelined until the end of the season.

With Marco Silvestri having some nervy moments, Evans may have been hoping to use Turnbull however the 31-year-old keeper has been injured ever since Evans’ arrival.

Steve Evans will instead turn to Bailey Peacock-Farrell who has come through Leeds United’s academy and looks a hot prospect for the future.

However he is still very early on in his career but this may provide him the perfect window of opportunity to gain some experience, and make his case to be battling for a spot in the first team.

Leeds fans….. What do you make of this news? Do you think Turnbull will be a miss? Can Peacock-Farrell provide the appropriate cover or would Evans be better to use the emergency loan window? Let us know your thoughts and opinions below!
