Aston Villa striker Keinan Davis has turned down a contract offer, according to Football Insider.

Following his impressive start to the season, Aston Villa had tabled a new offer to Keinan Davis in the hope that it would ward off any interest from other clubs.

However, Football Insider sources believe that Keinan Davis has rejected Aston Villa's first contract offer.

Davis has established himself as a regular in Steve Bruce's Aston Villa side this year and is enjoying a fine breakthrough season.

The academy product has bagged two goals in eight Championship games for Aston Villa, finding the net in away wins against Barnsley and Burton Albion.

This has alerted a number of Premier League sides to his talent and the likes of Everton, Arsenal and Manchester United all sent scouts to watch him score against Burton in midweek.

In a bid to end speculation surrounding Keinan Davis' future, Steve Bruce has acted quickly to offer him a new deal but the initial offer has been turned down by the physical forward.

Aston Villa are expected to return with another contract offer, this time with improved terms, as they desperately seek to commit the 19-year-old's long term future to the club.

The Verdict

Keinan Davis has burst onto the scene this season and has shown why he is held with such high regard.

However, he would be better off remaining at Aston Villa, rather than making his move now.

The 19-year-old is scoring goals at Championship level and if he continues to do so, then he will get to the Premier League - whether that is with Villa or elsewhere.
